The 7th amendment was ratified on December 15th,1791. This amendment guarantees the right to a jury trial in certain federal civil cases and restricts courts from overturning a jury's findings of a fact. An example is a case where a shopper slips inside a store due to a wet floor without warning signs. This situation could lead to a civil lawsuit.
